The HR recruitment department has a very large number of tasks at work while many vacancies in a company. Everyday they are receiving many resumes and they need to review each very carefully and send them call letter for interview. They also have to decide who will need to make some rounds of interview process and finally select the correct candidate.
Of course recruiters have criteria to like or dislike the candidate. You certainly do not expect to be included in the list of candidates who are not liked by job interviewers or recruiters. There are several main reasons why job interviewers hate you. Check out the 7 reasons below and try to avoid these things as best you can.
1. Incomplete resume
When applying for the job you want, you will be asked to send a resume. Resume serves to explain your profile and determine whether you fit the criteria of the job being applied for. The case that often arises is the applicant does not send a complete resume. Incomplete resumes can be very troublesome. Recruiters must contact the candidate and ask questions that are not listed on the resume to be submitted to the company.
Even recruiters may also get application letters and resumes without contact information. This will make it difficult for recruiters to contact candidates. If you want to be accepted for the job you are applying for, then before sending your resume you need to make sure you include your contact details. You also need to ensure that the data you provide is complete, such as work experience, addresses, training history and so on.
2. Not in accordance with the job proposed
Nearly half of job seekers apply for jobs that actually do not suit themselves. Applicants sometimes do not read job descriptions in advertisements carefully, so they lose some important information such as the roles or conditions required. They immediately send job applications to the company without regard to this important information.
As a result, recruiters get a lot of application files in their e-mails, some of which do not meet the requirements requested. Recruiters find it difficult to identify the right candidate with sufficient skills for a particular position. Before you submit a job application, make sure you understand the requirements listed in the ad. Stop applying for jobs that you only want, but apply according to the skills and abilities you have.
3. Rude Behaviour
Recruiters have to deal with many people every day. They must contact the candidate through various media such as email and telephone. Recruiters are accustomed to dealing with many people of different characters, but that does not mean recruiters can accept people who are being rude. You should not be rude to recruiters. You need to pay attention to your words. When interacting with you, even if only gathering the information you have, the recruiter makes an assessment.
Your attitude will also be assessed by recruiters. If you are rude, the recruiter will reconsider continuing the selection with you. Recruiters certainly don’t expect to employ abusive employees, especially if it conflicts with their work culture. You should always maintain good manners, even when talking to the receptionist because your telephone call might be recorded. You can prepare yourself by practicing saying the words and avoiding rude expressions.
4. Reapplying even after being rejected
Once you submit a job application and are rejected by the recruiter, you do not need to reapply when you have been declared rejected. Even so, not a few people who still apply again even after being rejected.
Doing this will only waste of time both parties. Recruiters must re-examine what you send, identify you and re-discard you. You can reapply to the same company as possible with a different position, or reapply after long time period.
5. Don’t prove what is said
You must be careful what you say during the interview. One of the things that job interviewers don’t like is that applicants can’t give what they say. When you can’t give what you say, it’s better if you don’t talk about it.
Recruiters are sometimes not the people who will be your boss. They must provide candidate information to their managers. Correct information will not only help the company but will also help you yourself. Make sure that you express the words correctly and honestly. Before you say something, you should think about it carefully and consider the impact that you will get afterwards.
Lies can ruin everything. Whatever is asked by recruiters you should say honestly. The lies that you hide can be discovered by recruiters, both now and later. If you make a big lie and get hired, then one day the company knows that. It is not impossible your days to work there will end. It’s better if you avoid problems like that by speaking honestly from the start. Being honest will also prevent you and the recruiters from wasting time.
When you lie and get caught, you might get the worst possibility. They may no longer hire you and do not give you the opportunity to work again after being out for so long.
Make sure you don’t waste time and energy lying to recruiters. You are not prohibited from sharing your strengths and abilities with recruiters, but make sure to be within reasonable limits and stay honest. If you have a bad police record, you still need to be honest with recruiters to avoid unwanted things in the future.
